Feel elated on the occasion of launching the Website of Shri G.B. Murarka Arts and Commerce College, Shegaon. Ours is a pioneering college imparting qualitative higher education in Shegaon. Since its inception in 1964 it has catered to the needs of students in rural areas near Shegaon in Western Vidarbha (Maharashtra). This website displays the information about the management, staff, courses, results, student-centric activities, academic atmosphere, achievements, photo-gallery, and infrastructure of the college.

One of the objectives of our founders was to empower the students in rural area by acquiring higher education (which was virtually impossible for them in 60s and 70s) to find better opportunities in a competitive life. It was their vision and goal to educate the minds of youngsters who could find solutions to the world’s problems through study, research, and development. We continue to build and substantiate on those ideals. To create such ‘Thinking Minds,’ one ‘Thinking Question’ is being given to them every day. Students engage with and respond to this AQAD (Asset Question A Day) daily.

With the dissemination and proliferation of information through the use of technology, a higher education institute nowadays is expected to invent new and innovative methods of dissemination. We practice these methods by continually accessing, evaluating and applying techniques and strategies; by engaging faculty and students in constructive interactions that extend the knowledge; and by liaising with the local community.

In the light of such conditions, any intellectual endeavor needs a system of review for success or failure of its basic practices as determined by an authorized body of professionals; in other words, to assess its worth. With this reoriented vision and understanding we are preparing for re-accreditation, and we confidently believe that such re-accreditation by NAAC, now and in the years to come, will enable us to make quality the defining element of our existence.
